There are many boundaries in the book Daniel half human. Including the facts that you are not aloud to be a Jew in general or you will become an outcast, and considered a freak of nature that is below the human race.
The only reason these rules now apply, (however ridiculous they may be), is to keep America in the future safe. But yes, I agree somewhat with your point.
True we do have to free speech but just don't be a jerk about it. Don't go around saying your race is better because you will probably get killed. So just be sensible about what comes out of your mouth so you don't get your face smashed in. Like that dude Ryan in the book Walker's Crossing he figured out that you can't go around yelling at other races because his brother Gil did it and he shot a plane, killed a guy, and got arrested. That what will happen if you hate other races.
Why? All the races would get really mad at each other and hate each other. Some boundaries need to be broken but the idea of not saying bad things about other races does not need to be broken.
In The Giver, Jonas is denied his rights of feelings and freedom. 'Tis not the way to live, you see. You need to be able to speak freely. I know, I know, I got rhyme.
You should be able to say anything... I mean we are supposed to be a "Free Country" right??? But actions should be limited so no harm can be afflicted to another human or animal. People should be able to call themselves 'FREE' though.
Boundaries are to keep people in line, and to make sure people don't go to far or to do something that isn't appropriate at the time. They are made so that people won't regret and will effect them later in life or will effect their relationship with another person.
In To Kill A Mockingbird, there haven't been many boundaries so far. One boundary though is that when Scout insults Walter unintentionally, she has to face Calpurnia's consequences for her actions. Also, Scout is a natural reader, who learned to read on her own before she attended school. Her teacher, Ms. Caroline, is convinced that her father has been teaching her and that he has been teaching her "the wrong way." Scout is scolded and hit for denying that her father teaches her. Ms. Caroline insists that they will try to "undo the damage" when in fact, Scout is just a gifted natural reader.
Basically don't do anything to offend or degrade people you don't know how things will affect others.
ReplyDeleteYou should be allowed to say anything you want, but you should have the decency to notice when saying a certain thing is appropriate or not.

Deletedont talk like a terorist or a tool or a wierd guy talking about the end of the world, or the fbi will find you
ReplyDeleteWhy would the FBI waste there time rounding up all the people who believe the end is near
DeleteWhat if they actually end the world with a giant laser.
DeleteI'm the only one who can use the word "tool" my friend.
DeleteThis is weird. Could someone rephrase this?
Deleteyou can probably talk like that but just not act on it

DeleteThe FBI will round you up. What is this, a rodeo?
DeleteWise words, Mitchell.
DeleteThere are no boundaries as long as you are willing to accept the consequences of your actions.
ReplyDeleteNothing is true, everything is permitted.

ReplyDeletein rash, there are to many rules about talking, sports, and other useless rules that shouldnt exist

Deleteit will cause america to become too overprotective. when they ban french fries like in the book, thats when im moving to the bahamas
DeleteYes, it will, but people hopefully are more rational in the future. Even though it is true these new rules will weaken America in future wars.
DeleteMitchell, french fries will never be illegal. It's a free country.
Deletei agree

ReplyDeleteboundaries need to be pushed to do the impossible
ReplyDeletebut, what boundaries? Would getting killed be a good consequence for doing what you believe in?
DeleteIs it really worth it?
Why? All the races would get really mad at each other and hate each other. Some boundaries need to be broken but the idea of not saying bad things about other races does not need to be broken.
DeleteIf its truly what you believe it and its for a good cause you should be willing to give your life for it
DeleteWhy is race getting involved in these discussions so often?

ReplyDeleteI think everyone should just think before they speak. If what you're about to say is questionable, then you probably shouldn't say it.
ReplyDeleteTalk and act with common sense.
ReplyDeleteNice one, Charlotte!
DeleteSo true! but not everyone has common sense. The name common sense is kinda misleading because it doesn't seem to be very common
DeleteNice, short and sweet! No i was not talking about you Josh.
DeleteRight. Tyler?
